I am determined to make up for lost time due to all my setbacks in the last six months. My hubby wishes I wasn’t so focused and would take time out to do more of the fun things available on the island, but the missed deadlines are playing on my mind. I don’t want to rush it, but I don’t want to let anyone down, either.
I have a couple of beta readers who say they enjoy the chapters I send them. I am up to tidying up the chapters part and have one more chapter and a conclusion to write, so well on my way to finishing.
The other night he took a photo of me writing in my going out to dinner clothes while I waited to head out. I am taking every opportunity I can to write.
The hardest part is culling many stories to fit into the 40,000-word allowance. Hmm, maybe there will be a book 3!
I always love the wildlife on Hamilton Island.
There are a lot of cockatoos, and I swear they are psychic as they fly onto our balcony as we open the door to our room, especially as the door is not visible to them; how else could they possibly know?
They are very cheeky, and if you happen to leave the sliding door to the balcony open, they will come into your room and trash it as they look for food.
Considering they are wild birds and not tamed, I feel honoured that they let me get within touching distance of them. I keep my fingers to myself; no matter how much I would love to touch them, it is all fun until someone loses a finger.
The highlight of my week was snorkeling on the great barrier reef. OMG, it was so good! Good visibility of the coral and interesting fish.
Now that I think about it, there were many other highlights, too, like jet skiing around the whole island while on a jet ski tour.
I have visited the koalas most mornings as they are just too adorable.
There are also many wallabies on Hamilton Island, and I was shocked to see one eating food off a foil wrapper that someone had carelessly littered.
I have really enjoyed my time here on Hamilton Island and look forward to visiting again.
By the time you read this, I will be in Sydney, my first visit since before COVID, and I am looking forward to spending a couple of days there on my way home.

White Cockatoo – Symbology and Meaning
As I am seeing a lot of white cockatoos this week, I thought I would investigate their symbology.
All birds symbolise communication, and it is obvious that most are good chatterers.
A visit from a white cockatoo is said to symbolise spiritual freedom.
They also teach you the importance of communication, self-love and spontaneity.
To be fearless in your endeavours, and they said to be a sign of good work or progress, especially if they don’t show up very often.
