✨  Evaluating my 2021 goals…

How are you going with setting your goals for the year? I don’t mean your New Year resolutions, I am talking about the actual goals that you plan for the year, the ones you would put on your vision board.

Setting a resolution can be hard work as you have an expectation that you are going to change something. A resolution is a firm decision to do or not do something. One of mine was to stop eating so much chocolate. See what I did there? I left it open to still have some chocolate, so that was not a really firm decision. Most people will make a resolution and keep it for a few weeks and forget about it.

Anyway, when I set my goals for the year, I always like to check in with last year’s vision board and review my goals one last time and celebrate my achievements. I then review the ones I didn’t achieve and decide to either roll them over into the new year or delete them as they are no longer wanted.

When I went to take down my vision board off the wall to do my review, it was gone! Disappeared completely!

A few times during the year I would find it on the floor when the blu tack failed, but this time it was nowhere to be found. No one knew where it was, and my husband Tony asked why I was even surprised when there was so much ‘weird shit’ happening around me all the time and added that I should add it to the ever-growing list of material for my next book.

I know I wanted to put 2020 behind me but I can’t for the life of me, work out who would want an out-of-date vision board. I guess that sums up 2020, my board has gone as it had become somewhat unachievable in many aspects. That didn’t mean I gave up hope, I just revised them each month.

It is okay to change your goals as your needs and desires change and you adapt to external influences.
